Frieda's Mondel Bread:

A family recipe from the mother of Cathy Levin, this delicious
sweet has been a favorite at countless Kosher Connection
events.

1 cup oil
1 1/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sliced almonds
1 tsp. salt
4 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Cinnamon sugar

Cream oil, sugar and eggs together well.  Add remaining ingredients and
mix thoroughly.  With oiled hands, form dough into logs and place on
greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 until golden brown.  Approx. 25
minutes.  Let logs cool slightly and slice at 1/2" angles.  Place cut side up
and sprinkle  generously with cinnemon sugar.  Toast in oven for an
additional 10 minutes.

Noodle Kugel:

Moist and flavorful, we serve this kugel recipe at many of our
Kiddush luncheons.  For a great variation, try adding raisins or
other dried fruits.

1 lb. medium egg noodles (cook according to package and drain)
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups milk

Place noodles in a 9x13 baking dish and toss with the butter.  Mix
remaining ingredients together and beat well.   Pour over noodles an
sprinkle the top with cinnamon.  Bake at 350 for about an hour or until
set.
